My initial reaction was that I need eye bleach, but the more I look at it... I likey. I think it kinda fails a bit at what it was going for but in such a way that it looks not half ba-
Okay, maybe not so much from the back.... man that is one thicc ‘Vette... So much so that I didn’t even notice the SCISSOR DOORS until now...
Man, I feel like such a boomer right now...

I get what they were going for but the proportions are all wrong with the hood way too long . And the doors are the worst.

GM almost built their own on the Solstice platform.

I think if you ignore what it’s trying to be, the proportions look okay until you get to the back. Not nearly enough rear window to go with the, er, car butt.

That car looks like it just saw a ghost...

It’s hard to ignore, though, because I know what a C1 Corvette looks like. It’s like they hit the Corvette uncanny valley. Maybe that’s why I don’t mind the back as much as you do. It really doesn’t resemble the Nomad back that closely so I can go with it.

Weird... It’s the exact opposite for me. But I totally get what you mean about the Corvette uncanny valley. The Nomad is definitely an improvement over the regular ones though...

Agree on that one. Wow.

That’s the original 1954 Nomad show car.

Packing it with salt & hosing it down doesn’t seem unwarranted.

I'd get two. One to shit on and one to cover it up with.

You say it’s thicc but its the same as this

I never thought the nomad was very interesting. But that's a pretty car right there.

True. That’s the reason I never liked Corvettes as a kid, the rear end looks like somebody chopped off the rest of the streamlined body. It’s like the designer got lazy at that point and just went “make it a right angle with some circles”. It looks like they let a 3 year-old design the rear.

Ya, I can see that

What it needs is a rear end more like this:
Corvette purists would want my head, but I want a Corvette S peedtail!

That would be a pain to autocross to be honest....

18s. The Kappa platform is fairly tiny, even 45 profile looks like rubber bands.

Maybe it’s a little on the long side... the Corvette’s speedtail could be a tad shorter. Mostly I just think it needs to slope downwards more in the back and not have such a tall, abrupt, brick-like butt. It doesn’t work with the rest of the styling, it needs to be more streamlined.

I know why they did it like that, the boot is ginourmous for its class...and its really helpful to pack in lumber, jack, jack stands, water sprayer and misc stuff when I go to autox somewhere far away. So if you replace with a long tail, it'll become less practical...

I’m sure they did it so that you can fit golf clubs in there. But a long tail would look soooooo much better... Also, if they had just made the C5 mid-engined, they still could’ve made room for golf clubs in the front...
Also, we need to appreciate that the mid-engine C5 Co rvette concept car had very similar styling in the front but with a 10x better-looking rear end:
This, to me, is what the C5 was meant to look like all along.
